“The Nadine” was a super yacht owned by Jordan Belfort and named after his second wife, Nadine Caridi. Before its sinking, the yacht was 41 meters long and carried a number of “toys” including a seaplane, a helicopter and eight jet skis.
In July 1997, Belfort and his family, along with several friends, boarded The Nadine off the east coast of Sardinia. Despite repeat warnings from Captain Marc Elliot, that a storm was expect, a drug induced Belfort insisted that the trip from Porto Cervo to Capri continue as planned. Mid journey, “The Nadine” sunk after being bombarded by 15 meter waves. All passengers and crew were rescued by the Italian coast guard.
